Amanda Mydlowski

Junior Kindergarten

I am Amanda Mydlowski, I will be the new Jr. Kindergarten teacher at St. James. This is my first year at St. James and I am looking forward to a very successful and blessed year. I've been a teacher over 5 years and have a passion for my Catholic faith and educating children how to read for life. Some of my passions are fly fishing, spending time with family, being involved in church and my community, hiking, and everything outdoors.

Mary Ruiz

Kindergarten

My name is Mary Ruiz. This is my seventh year teaching Kindergarten at St. James. I previously taught Kindergarten for three years in Colorado Springs, where I was born and raised. I received my undergraduate degree from Colorado State University and have also received my Masters in Elementary Education.
As a Colorado native, I have a love for the outdoors. I am an avid hiker and have climbed a number of peaks in the state. I am always looking for new adventures that I can share with my pup, Winnie.
This year, I will be completing my fourth and final year in the Denver Catholic Biblical School, which has been an unbelievable and enriching experience. As a follower of Christ, I believe I have found my home in the Archdiocese of Denver. Being able to share my faith with my students and coworkers is such a blessing.

Sarah Osmonson

1st Grade

Hello! My name is Sarah Osmonson. I graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 2005 with a B.A. in Psychology. I returned to C.U. to get my Elementary Education License in 2007. I spent some time as a substitute teacher before becoming a full-time missionary with F.O.C.U.S. (the Fellowship of Catholic University Students), a national Catholic ministry organization that works with college students across the country.

Following my three years with F.O.C.U.S., I reentered the teaching field in 2010. I completed my M.A. in Early Childhood Special Education at the University of Northern Colorado in August 2015. I’ve taught preschool/junior kindergarten at St. James for the past seven years.

This year I will be teaching first grade and I am so excited! I love teaching and know it is my vocation!

Anne Marie Romansky

2nd grade

This is her seventh year teaching at St. James and her fourth year teaching 2nd grade. She has previously taught preschool and 1st grade. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with an Elementary Education degree. In her past six years at St. James, she has at some point coached Volleyball, Widget and JV girls’ Basketball, Cross Country, and 7th and 8th Speech. She is also involved in the parish community at St. James. She is very happy to be continue teaching 2nd grade this year. She looks forward to helping and developing her students in their reading, writing, math among other skills and most importantly in their young faith. Ms. Romansky is blessed to prepare and form the students for making their First Confession in 2nd grade. She is a native of Colorado and a product of Archdiocese of Denver Catholic schools which has allowed her to stand behind the value of a quality and faith filled education that St. James provides.

Julie Wolbach

3rd grade

I was born and raised a Catholic in Denver, Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado. There I earned a bachelors degree in audiology and speech language sciences. My faith also grew immensely at UNC where I became involved with BearCatholic and really began to know the heart of Christ in a way I never had before.
After graduating in 2012, I spent most of my career in education, and remained active in my faith life leading small groups for my parish youth group. This will be my first year as a classroom teacher and I am excited to work with the students, families, and staff of St. James.
I'm blessed to be in an environment where I'm able to not only educate our youth, but to share the most precious gift of our faith with them. In her free time Julie enjoys hiking, spending time with her family, and watching movies.

Kaylee Sullivan

4th Grade

I am a Colorado native who was born and raised in Fort Collins. I spent my childhood in a Catholic school, spent time studying under other teachers in Catholics schools, and I am now beginning my 2nd year serving the families at St. James.
My favorite things to do in my spare time include hiking, playing guitar, reading, and playing board games with my family. My passion to serve Christ and to deepen my relationship with Him has lead me to work in a Catholic setting where God is as at the center of my work.
It is my greatest joy when I see my students reflecting the love of Christ in their day to day lives. I am excited to begin another year dedicated to the growth of my students not only academically, but spiritually as well!

Christina Handler

Middle School Science

Christina Handler was originally from Indiana where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Biology from St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame, IN. After graduating, she spent one year of service living and working at a community for the mentally handicapped. The next step in her journey led her to Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute where she worked as an Occupational Therapy Technician for two years. Finally, God’s Will was shown when she took a leap of faith to move to Colorado to begin teaching at St. James Catholic School. The 2017-2018 academic year will be her 6th year teaching here! She has loved working at St. James. While at St. Mary’s, she thought of becoming a pediatrician so as to incorporate both her love of science and children. However, God’s plan was much better in that now, as a teacher in a Catholic school, she can be an integral part in the formation of children’s lives and can help to show God’s hand through her favorite subject of science. For both our faith and the field of science should lead us to the Truth. She loves to teach her students of the Catholic Church’s important role in the sciences throughout history such as the “Father of Modern Genetics,” the “Father of the Big Bang,” and the “the Hurricane Priest.” Thank you to the St James School and my students’ families for allowing me to be a part your children’s lives. I could not imagine any job more rewarding than the mission and vocation I have found here!

Kristen Cunningham

Middle School Math

This is Ms. Cunningham's second year at St. James. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Math Education and Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Kansas. Before coming to St. James, Ms. Cunningham volunteered for a year at Camp Gray Catholic Camp in Wisconsin, helped develop a retreat program at Prairie Star Ranch in Williamsburg, Kansas, taught high school math in Kansas City, KS, and coordinated programming for undergraduate students at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center at KU. She loves the students and Christ-centered St. James community, and is excited for another year of math fun and challenges!

Dr. Thomas Ball

Music

Dr Thomas Ball is in his 12th year as a teacher and 4th year at St James School. Previously, he taught instrumental music in Denver public schools, Aurora public Schools, and Jefferson County public schools. He has also been on the music faculty at Adams State University and the University of Denver. As a convert to Catholicism his faith has become a central part of his life. "Teaching in a school where I can integrate and share my faith with students is truly a blessing. Christ is why we are here and our curriculum and daily lessons are grounded in Him. St James is a wonderful place to teach because we are encouraged to share and imbed the faith into the lessons." As a professional musician, Dr Ball is much in demand as a trombonist and recording artist in Colorado and maintains a busy performing schedule during the summer. He has a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, a Master of Music degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Doctor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado. At St James, Dr Ball teaches general music to all students, directs the liturgical choir, and the school band. He lives in Westminster with his wife of 18 years and their 4 children and number 5 on the way!

Lisha Gerding

School Language Arts

Hello, my name is Lisha Gerding and I am very excited to be a part of the St. James Catholic Community as the Language Arts teacher for 5th, 6th, 7th grade and I will also be teaching 5th and 6th grade History. I have been teaching in the Archdiocese of Denver for twelve years. I have had the incredible opportunity to teach 4th and 5th grade for six years and Kindergarten for six years. Additionally, I was the Middle School Speech coach for six years. I received my Bachelor of Liberal Arts with an emphasis in History and Elementary Education from Metropolitan State University.

As a Catholic educator I have been called to teach as Jesus did. What a wonderful opportunity to touch the minds and hearts of children! I love teaching in a Catholic school because I can share my faith and be part of a community that prays and follows the teachings of Jesus. Additionally, since my education was within the Catholic school system all the way through high school, I feel particularly moved to create for my students the incredible experience I experienced.

When not pursuing her creative endeavors, Mrs. Goodloe taught English to newly arrived people here in the United States, Italian to adult classes, and catechism to children preparing for their First Communion, both in Spanish and in English. With the intention of living a more Christ-Centered life, Mrs. Goodloe sought out teaching in Catholic schools as to share not only her love for art and language but also her love for God. When she isn’t teaching, Mrs. Goodloe trains in jiu-jitsu and aikido, goes on hikes with her family, and finds ways to keep on running. Mrs. Goodloe is married and has six children; all animal lovers, the Goodloes have two dogs, one cat, one bearded dragon… and whatever other animal may happen into their home.

He is very thankful and excited for the opportunity to teach the students at St. James.

Mrs Wilson

School Theology

I’m Mrs. Wilson, the Middle School Theology Teacher. I’m originally from Colorado and absolutely love our state. After returning to the Church my senior year of high school, I attended Franciscan University of Steubenville. While at FUS, I earned a BA in Theology and an MA in Theology and Catechetics. I had the incredible opportunity to study in Rome my final semester, where I was awestruck with the beauty and and history of our Faith. After college, I worked as a Youth Minister for four wonderful years.
Desiring a more stable schedule, as I planned on getting married, I started my wonderful ministry here at St. James. I love the school, the amazing families and most especially sharing my love of Jesus and His Church. I am now married with one darling little boy, Jude.
