The St. James Religious Education Program is for children of ages 4 through high school. The goal of our Religious Education Program is to provide a personal meeting with Jesus Christ and His Church, alive and active in the lives of our children. To accomplish this purpose, it is vital to help the parents to be the first catechists of their children as they prepare to receive the sacraments of Confession, Communion, and Confirmation.

The St. James Religious Education Program requires a minimum of two years of attendance before receiving the sacraments. We understand that a continued and integral proclamation of the Gospel teachings is necessary for the overall faith formation of our students, beyond the immediate preparation for the sacraments. This builds community and relationships with other Catholic children with the same Christian values and with the entire St. James Community.

The St. James Religious Education Program is strongly based on the method of the early Church and the Gospel writers. That is, the witness of given by our "catechists," who teach with their lives and the practice of their faith, which is the beauty of Christ and His Church.

At St. James, we feel it is necessary that our parents be involved in their child's education by attending mandatory meetings once a month. It is also required that each child attend Sunday Mass with their parents.

Registration fees for children in Sacramental Preparation or RCIC are $40 per child, $70 for two children, or $80 for 3+ children. Registration fees for children in Non-Sacramental Preparation is $30 per child, $50 for two children, or $60 for 3+ children. Our program runs from September thru May and classes begin on Monday September 19, 2011. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:00 PM in the School.
