The New Evangelization at

St. James Catholic Church

As John Paul clarified in his Apostolic Letter at the Beginning of the New Millennium, the new evangelization isn’t “a matter of inventing a ‘new program.’ The program already exists: it is the plan found in the Gospel and in the living Tradition, it is the same as ever” (n. 29). What’s essential in order to bring the Gospel to the modern world is a proclamation that’s “new in ardor, methods, and expression” (March 9, 1983).

The Catechism teaches that the Church “in her whole being and in all her members…is sent to announce, bear witness, make present, and spread the mystery of the communion of the Holy Trinity” (n. 738). This sums up well the essential goal of evangelization.

Here at St. James we are very interested in providing everyone with the tools and information to be bold witnesses of the Gospel of the Good News of Jesus Christ. We offer many talks and workshops throughout the year.
