"The love of Christ compels us."
2 CO 5:19

St. James Catholic Church is a Stewardship Community; a community of selfless giving in Christ, who gives us all things. This living faith requires action. Jesus Himself reveals what He will demand as a sign of our faith at the final judgment: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40). Our Patron Saint reaffirms this critical biblical truth: "Faith without deeds is dead". (James 2:26)

"Action", however, should not be confused with "activism". A Stewardship Community does not consist of individual acts performed in isolation, but is instead, a Communal Spirit of Service born out of the love of God and manifested in our love for Him and our neighbor. John Paul II emphasized that lay men and lay women are called in a unique way to share in this work of the New Evangelization, the salvation of the world, by bearing witness to Christ and to his Church. The lay faithful:

‘are called by God so that they, led by the spirit of the gospel, might contribute to the sanctification of the world.  Thus, especially in this way of life, resplendent in faith, hope, and charity, they manifest Christ to others’ (Christifideles laici, no. 15, Lumen gentium, no. 31)

The following ministries are given for your consideration. Please call the representative listed below for more information on how to lend your special talents to St. James and the Universal Church. In true stewardship, we will begin to walk towards a parish sustained and guided, not by individuals who do a job, but by loving servants who see their participation in the parish as a vocation; a calling to share the love of Christ.
