Father Felix P. Medina Algaba

"But the Lord said to me: My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
2 Co 12:9

Father Felix was born in Cordoba, Spain, on July 9th, 1973. He grew up in a small town in Northern part of Andalucia, called Hinojosa del Duque, where his parents and brother still live. He went to public schools, except for the last year of high school when he attended a Marist Catholic High School, in Salamanca, Spain. He attended the University of Salamanca, where he got his Degree in Mathematics, graduating in 1996.

Father Felix felt his missionary vocation to the priesthood as a result of his return to the Catholic faith towards the end of his high school years. Out of gratefulness for the many blessings received through a Catholic itinerary of Christian initiation, called the Neocatechumenal Way, he offered himself to be trained to become a diocesan missionary priest anywhere in the world.

He was sent in February of 1996 to newly erected Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary of Denver, Colorado. This is the oldest of the two Denver seminaries. Since the St. John Vianney Seminary was not founded until 1999, he pursued his Philosophical and Theological studies towards a BA at Regis University where he graduated in 1999.

He continued his Philosophy and Theology studies at St. John Vianney Seminary where he graduated in December 2004. As part of his missionary training, he did pastoral work in parishes and dioceses throughout Micronesia (Guam and Saipan), and the Pacific Islands.

He was ordained as a deacon for the Archdiocese of Denver in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on February 21, 2004, and assigned to serve as a deacon at Church of the Risen Christ, where he continued his ministry as a priest, after his Ordination to the Priesthood on December 4, 2004, by Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M., Cap.. Fr. Felix served as a parochial vicar there until June 2006, when he was appointed Administrator of St. James Catholic Parish, in Denver.
