Father Mark Kovacik

"In everything we prove ourselves as servants of God ... as distressed, yet always rejoicing, as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything."
2 Co 6:4a. 10

Father Mark Kovacik is a native of Denver. He attended Christ the King grade school and Regis High School. He graduated from Georgetown University with a major in Psychology and a minor in English. For two years he taught eighth grade English Science, Spelling and Reading in Chuuk, Micronesia as a Jesuit International volunteer.

After this, he did social work for five years at Stout Street Clinic in downtown Denver assisting homeless people with benefits, housing, clothing and other needs. During this time he began the Neocatechumenal Way.

He is currently in his third year of the Theological studies having finished two years of Philosophy. His formation in the seminary has included two years missionary work in Georgia, USA, and one year working and studying in Israel. He is assigned to St. James Parish until the end of May of 2007.
