ARCHBISHOP AQUILA ASSIGNS FR. FELIX AS PASTOR OF QUEEN OF PEACE PARISH IN AURORA

Dear parishioners of St. James,

Archbishop Aquila, the beloved shepherd of our Archdiocese, has decided to send me as pastor of Queen of Peace Parish in Aurora, Colorado. Before the appointment was made official, I met with him to express my desire to stay in St. James and continue the work of the New Evangelization that has brought so many fruits to our parish in recent years. I have received so many graces and seen so many miracles among you in these last seven years! “The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad indeed!” (cf. Ps 126:4).

Archbishop promised to send to St. James a good pastor who would continue the evangelizing work going on at this moment, but considered that my service is necessary at Queen of Peace at this time. The new pastor of St. James has not been appointed yet. We will know his name at the end of April. I am happy to take this new assignment with the spirit of obedience and love for Christ and his Church. I know I am a weak and sinful man, but I go with Christ’s grace and strength. God did not choose me to be a priest to go where I wanted, but to follow Him wherever He sends me. Both assignments will become effective on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

I humbly ask for you prayers for me and for my successor as the new pastor of St. James, whom we will know very soon.

Fraternally yours in Christ,

Fr. Felix
