St. James Annual Financial Report

December 5, 2012

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

The peace of Jesus Christ, who comes with us in this time of Advent, be with you and your loved ones.

Attached are the Statement of Activities and related charts reporting the financial activity of St. James Catholic Church for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012. The generosity of many parishioners has allowed St. James to continue its 108 year history of fulfilling its mission of evangelization through the faith activities of the school, religious education and adult faith formation programs, and assisting the needy in our community, among others. Jesus has done great things for us and invites us to give generously in our ongoing mission.

As the Statement of Activities shows, the Parish experienced a small deficit in the past fiscal year. However, it is important to report that, due to our Capital Improvement Campaign and improved financial results in St. James Catholic School, we were able to make significant capital improvements during this time. These improvements include purchase of a new school boiler, the near completion of a prayer garden devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and partial construction of a liturgical room in the School. This liturgical room, once completed, will be available for the use of school teachers, religious education instructors, Church communities and others in providing additional prayer space here at St. James.

As we move forward in this Year of Faith as declared by Pope Benedict XI, I request that you prayerfully consider the possibility of our embarking on a Church Improvement Project. This anticipated project would aim to improve the Catholic identity of our church building to the surrounding community, as well as our liturgical experience as parishioners of St. James in furthering our relationship with Jesus Christ. You will be informed as we proceed with this plan.

Please be assured of my sincere gratitude towards all who, with the help of God’s grace, serve St. James through their time, talent and treasure. Know that you are constantly in my prayers.

In His name,

Father Felix P. Medina-Algaba

Pastor, St. James Catholic Paris
